Cosplay can be overwhelming with all the tools and then some require software too. If you want to prepare for buying a new machine, I’d recommend trying the software first! And to help you with that, I made a list of the programs I use with my cosplay hardware.
There’s plenty more and I will likely shift through some programs as I go, but this is what I use now.
Brother ScannCut SDX1250
- Canvas Workspace (free) to make the actual files in
- Photoshop, to prepare images. Any similar software will do, like GIMP.
Brother Inno-vis 750 e
- PE Design 11, to make the files in. This software is too expensive for hobbyists, to be honest. I could have bought 2 Bambu printers for this amount of money.
- Photoshop, to prepare images. Any similar software will do.
Bambu A1
- Joke’s on you, I can’t 3D model due to my lack of depth perception.
- Makerworld (free) is a decent slicer imo and has some programs that help you make coins/keychains. I can use those and that’s it.
So that’s software to go with the hardware I have. But I also use other programs for making cosplay skits.
Other software
- Photoshop: to sketch out ideas
- Audacity(free): recording my voicelines
- Audition: editing the audio for skits
- DaVinci Resolve (free): video editing for skits
- Philips Hue: to make a light plan
I hope this inspires you with creating your cosplays and skits. Be creative! And know that not all programs are very expensive, there is plenty to use that is free.
If you have suggestions for what I should try, please DM me or send me an e-mail. I’m always open for ideas!
Keep on crafting!
