Long wigs are prone to tangling easily. But there are ways to reduce that! I’ll write down some methods I’ve tried and what I’d recommend them for:

  • Crimping wigs: wigs that need a little extra volume and will be styled. Read on my styling method here (soon). I sometimes combine crimping and silicone spray to make the wigs super smooth and tangle-resistant.
  • Silicone spray: long wigs that can be brushed through after styling. Simple silicone spray is perfect for these and need only to be brushed through the wig after applying. Definetly a quick fix. BUT: the silicone will make the floor/area slippery, so do this outside.
  • Tule tubes: best for twintails! Sew tule tubes in the same colour of the wig and put them over the twintails. Cut a hole where the clips should pass through. This method has zero tangling even after two days of wearing a Miku wig. But it is really difficult to style the twintails with the tubes it also reduced the volume of the twintails.
  • Detangling brush: a simple detangling brush goes a long way. I love to use this for shorter wigs, but also in combination with other methods for longer wigs. Mine looks like this.

Keep on crafting!
