Hi everyone,

Last event of 2025! One day events only get a post afterwards, so here it is. In order to pick a costume, I checked the weather forecast in the week beforehand. That did not really help. 🙁  My ideas were either “Winter” Fern or the Theophany set and I settled on Fern. Her darker colours will have less problems with the mud and temperatures. Fhant also wanted to try dressing up to an event again, so he grabbed his old LARP outfit from storage. And about storage: I found my dad’s old camera in storage and it seemed functional, so I brought it along. I also packed a few gifts for Year Zero friends.

Fhant and I woke up around the usual time Dalischa (my cat) wakes us up. This gave us plenty of time for breaksfast, changing into our outfits and make-up. We left around 9:00 AM and knew we would arrive plenty on time. After we parked the car in a nearby parking area, Fhant realised he left his museum card at home. That means only I could enter with the tickets we bought. Some quick thinking later, we figured out a solution with the card. In the mean time, the Bearded Creator found us near the entrance. The rest of the group would be there later, so we decided to head in, check some shops, do some archery and buy a coffee.

Then the biggest part of the group arrived, so we went back to the main square and caught up with everyone. A lot of hugs, catching up and group pictures happened. <3 I snuck everyone a tiny medal I made with the 3D printer, especially for the Year Zero group. I’m glad everyone seemed to like theirs, as I was kinda nervous about this all. We went to bake some bread together and had a nice and chill group conversation about Scotland. We also drew some attention from other attendees, which was quite fun. A small kid was obsessed with Artsycosplayer’s look. (She was an amazing demon with white sclera lenses.) And a few people asked for pictures of parts of the group.

Somehow I ended up being the tour guide for the group. I showed them around, made stops for shopping and other activities till we got to the mead shop and Artist Alley. I really needed to buy some mead for New Year’s, as it’s a little tradition for me. Sadly, the Artist Alley was overcrowded and I spotted some AI. In the end, I bought nothing there. But there was a tiny shop near the exit of the Alley, where I found a lovely tiara for my Vampire project. (Yeah, no. I haven’t shared anything about that yet. There is no concept/art/anything for it, just vibes.) I met up with the group again, and we settled down at a nearby area for some food. There was a live band that came by the play there and a few of the group felt the need to dance. I enjoyed watching. 🙂 I really wish I could have joined in, but I felt a little sick. (Nothing big, I just needed some rest.)
I did talk a bit more with some of the others who didn’t dance (yet) and I told one of them that she should try the costume competition. Her outfit was really neat and I had a feeling that she’d definetly had a chance.

Fhant wanted to walk around a bit more and I agreed. We could shop a bit for his outfit and give it more distinction. In the end, we settled on a nice leather belt that has a fantasy touch to it and had room for his leather pouch. I pushed Fhant to try some warm mead and he said he was happy with my little push. 🙂 Together, we walked around a little more, said bye to the group and went home for dinner. It was starting to rain and we had walked a lot already, so we felt it was time to call it a day. When we got home, I read the messages and heard that our friend had won the competition! I’m so happy for her! It really was a fun time and I am happy that I finally didn’t forget that this event happens each year.

Would I go here again? Likely!

Keep on crafting!
