Hi everyone,
This period was a kind of a cosplay break. Due to work on my apartment and the heat, I couldn’t keep crafting on full power. So I had to lower my own expectations for what I’d get done for cosplay. I tried my best to prepare for Scotland and various upcoming photoshoots. Also, I decided to look for a new job. That all takes time and energy.
Cosplay progress summary:
- Gwendolyn – Odin Sphere: I still had to finish the corset on this cosplay, so that’s where I picked it up. The lacing is done with grommets and I made a modesty panel in the back. Then I draped the white “overskirt” before figuring out the black small ove
rskirt. I made sure to add embroidery to the black skirt to balance out the extra details I’m adding. Next up were the wings: I cut the feathers from felt and sewed them on the fabric covers. It’s quite nerve-wracking to see a project like this come together. The technical aspects and layering are very difficult and it makes me nervous. I might make different wings later, so I don’t have to bother with this rigging. And I needed to make proper belts for the leg armor. So I decided to ask for help and learn leatherwork basics. It is a neat technique to know and I am planning on using it more often. And with this, Gwendolyn is finished. 🙂 - Vampire Queen – OC: The goal was to finish her corset in these months. I have the fabric laying ready, but had no working space available. So I put this one aside till the weather cools down and move her deadline to december 2026. Gonna make her for the midwinterfair possibly.
- Fern (flower promo dress) – Sousou no Frieren: I need one more outfit for Scotland and this one has a higher chance of success than the Vampire Queen, so I
decided to shuffle priorities. Time to make a pretty dress and let my embroidery machine run wild! First is making the dress patterns, though. 🙂 Adjusting owned patterns to make a fitting bodice with multiple parts, add pockets to the skirt and making the big puffy sleeves is a fun thing to do. I’m making the puff sleeves by gathering the cut fabric and sewing elastic behind it, to keep it a bit stretchy. Then I satin-stitched the golden trim and added some lace for the poof at the “cuffs”. Next up was the collar. This also has embroidery and lace ruffles. Then I added the purple detail and the gemstone to finish the bodice. Then I adjusted the bodice to fit better and embroidered the “belt”. - 10H (bride) – Nier: When I was checking the status of my cosplays, I noticed the shorts of this cosplay were ripped. So I made new ones. I also adjusted a few details and now this costume is done. All ready to be worn!

- 10H (white bunny) – Nier: Finally got around to adjusting this cosplay. The bunnysuit I bought was of terrible quality, so I had to adjust it a lot. I started with making it fit first and then made it to taste. Deciding the accessoires for the bunnysuit to fit this design is a challenge, because there are so many options! I hope you’ll like it. <3 I might try to make a copy of the bunny suit for a cosplay idea I have had for years.
This might be the start of Goldeen Showgirl Misty (Pokémon). - Malzeno – Monster Hunter: I picked up work on the Gold Rathian Sword and shield again. (This will be my prop for the Malzeno armor.)
I mostly worked on the shield. I painted it and added hardware to hide the electronics. When I am stressed, I like to paint. Seeing materials transform into other with the right colors applied, is magical to me. The sword is now just a fancy glowstick. I can’t wait to give this one it’s shape. I also started playing with some funkiness for the shoes. My idea is to add some lights to them too, but I don’t have a plan for how to get that working yet.
Upcoming events and projects
In the coming months, I will attend a Nurse Joy photoshoot with a group and a bird photoshoot. I’m looking forward to making these pictures and posting them here. I’ll do my best to treat you. <3
For further in the future, I’d love to cosplay Aerith (FFVII remake). I started playing FFVII thanks to MissWafflescos and her bf, for which I am grateful. They gave me a new story to love. <3 For Aerith I do have a wig, shoes and a basket, but I cannot allow myself to buy her outfit right now. I can use some monetary support for that cosplay, and I would be so grateful if you’d buy me a Ko-Fi to cosplay her.
And because a kind soul bought me a bunnysuit on Throne, I will be cosplaying a manga-only Frieren cosplay thing. 🙂 Just be on the lookout for that!
Keep on crafting,
Amirine
