Hi!
It’s time for my bi-monthly update on my projects again! I did finish one of the commissions I had been working on since April. The red cloak/robe (picture below) will be used in a video for a convention and be worn at the event too. I included a little fox plushie, as that is the mascot of the convention and I thought it would be cute. It has snaps to attach to the cloak, so it will stay in place or be removed and placed elsewhere.
(Yeah, I don’t look happy, but it was difficult posing with something that is waaay too big for me. I was trying to focus, haha!)
Gwendolyn’s dress finally saw some progress too! Her wig is styled, the sleeves have been sewn and I have found the materials for her feather ears. The black skirt has been embroidered, which is something I asked opinions about on Instagram. The original references don’t have that, but I thought a few decorations would be cute. The skirt has horse hair braid and a zipper installed, so I think I can call it ready. After the black skirt, it is time for the blue and white skirts, for which I will use materials from my fabric stash. I really want to downsize my stash, so I am happy to use my left-overs in this way!
Caitlyn’s boots are also finally in progress! Yes, that took a while… But as Arcane season two is delayed as well, I don’t think of it as a problem. I do want to have her ready by the start of Season two. That’s my deadline. I might sneak in a few props, but I am not sure. I did make some kind of Piltover Police badge, and maybe I should try some other small props. I don’t know if I need her sniper rifle. It’s really cool and all, but I want to be sure I use it and often to make the purchase worth it.
And lastly, we have Velkhana! This costume has been adjusted a bit for Animecon this month, so it should be easier to wear. With some size adjustments and changes to how to wear this outfit, I feel like I can wear it again and maybe be a bit more mobile. And uhm, spoiler (?) I maaaaay have bought fabric for another Monster Hunter cosplay. Those designs just make my heart happy. 🙂
