Hi everyone!
First of all: Happy 2026! I know, late and all, but I really didn’t feel like posting extra just for that. <3 I went for a busy start of the year, with an amazing snow photoshoot with Artsycoscaptures on the first Sunday of the year! I’ve added the pictures to the Winter Fern collection, so have a look! I don’t expect many photoshoots this year, because I have a big savings goal for my house. I’m a bit sad about it, but it will be so good once it is done. This is the complete opposite of what I hoped a few months ago. 🙁
Event-wise I will see what comes across my path this year. So far, I have set my eyes on Cosplay Meet XL, Animecon (full weekend) and Scotland Year One (read about Year Zero to learn what this is about). Midsummer Fair and Midwinter Fair are also options to visit.
Cosplay projects for 2026
There are a few projects that I aim to finish this year. I always try to keep some space for random hype projects, so it is not a list set in stone.
- First of all: Gwendolyn (default) from Odin Sphere
The understructure of an underbust corset, a hoopskirt, pillow, petticoat and stockings are finished. I also made the sleeves, bracers, choker, shield, black skirt and headband (minus crown, hands too cold for that). Altough I have started on the wings, I know those will take a lot of time, due to engineering and cutting all the feathers. It is strangely comforting to make this cosplay again after all this time. - Second: Malzeno armor from Monster Hunter Rise (Yes, still on-going. Monster Hunter armors are big projects.)
The underarmor is finished, the hoopskirt, pillow and petticoat are ready to support the skirt, the wig has been more styled and the circlet is ready for paint! I also got some work done on the Gold Rathian Shield, so I’m quite happy with the progress I made. - Third: Vampire Queen concept. An own design. A thing I feel I am terrible at. But there is a vision and I am willing to try. I’m not sharing my doodles yet. 😛 But it will involve an old wig and lots of music influences. 😀 I do think you can guess the band when it’s done!
