Hi everyone!

Since it’s April now, it’s time for the update on projects I’m working on. 😀 Animecon is around the corner and I’m hyped to be there! What cosplays will I bring? Uh, one. Maid Fern on Friday. 🙂 I’ll be working and I prefer to do work without a costume.! You can find me helping out at Pixel Ronin Studio, so come say hi! You might already know I’m about making pictures and I’m hyped to help cosplayers with anything they need to get some neat pictures of their outfits. And since I prefer having plenty of movement and not attract attention, I won’t be wearing elaborate outfits this weekend!

If you want to see me in a new outfit soon, donate on my Ko-Fi! I really want to cosplay Barasuishou (Rozen Maiden), but making her myself is too difficult. I have been wanting to cosplay her since the 2010’s, but I never understood the construction of her design. 🙁 She’s my favourite Rozen Maiden doll with the purple outfit, grey hair and eye patch for her left eye. With the eye patch, I can use my disability to my advantage! 🙂 (I’m still blind in my left eye, will never change <3.)
Since I recently found a store selling a lovely version, I’d like your help to make that dream come true. <3 I do have ideas for pictures with her and some props too. And I possibly have a few fellow Rozen Maiden cosplayers to shoot with! It is just that it’s quite expensive and I don’t have the funds for that right now. So any help is welcome and very much appreciated! I will continue on my projects that I started, so don’t worry about those. 🙂 Barasuishou would be a cosplay I’d love to have and I’d appreciate your help. <3

Anyhow, let’s go to the projects in progress:

  • Gwendolyn (default) – Odin Sphere
The leg armor is now finished too! I hate leg armor with a passion, because I feel like the shape is always off. 🙁 I really tried to get the shape right, so please don’t come at me if it looks off. It’s a struggle. 🙁 The wings on her knees are still weird, even after all these years… I forgot walking was a bit of a challenge with this costume. Oops! Painting all the armor after 3 layers of mod podge, a few layers of primer and then airbrushing them silver and candy blue was more fun, though. 😀 The shield is also looking like something now with this same recipe and hand painted rest of the colours, before going back in with the airbrush for the colourshift paints. I just need to finish the attachments for the cuisses, but with the rain I had some delays in painting that continued into the attachments.
The crown for the headpiece also has been cut on my hobby plotter, painted and glued on! I’m so happy to see this move forwards! At some point this motivated me to get started on the wig as well, so I did. And I’m surprised with how well this is going. 🙂 I never see wigstyling as one of my strong suits, so I’m pleasantly surprised with the process this time! Especially wig crimping went really well and it’s exciting to see improvement.
As I finally bought my own copy of the embroidery software for my Brother Inno-vis 750e. (I will not financially recover from this :|. ) This means I will make Gwendolyn a more luxury version with embroidery based on details from the game. 🙂 I’m looking forward to making the corset. Then I can finally see this cosplay coming together and try it all on. The final touches on the wig, making the wings and printing the spear are tasks for later.

  • Malzeno armor – Monster Hunter
Since I hate making leg armor, I decided to make these greaves in tandem with Gwendolyn’s. The details and leds still need to be placed, but I only have so much time. 😀 I also finished painting the circlet and the Gold Rathian shield is ready for paint and I’m very curious to see how it will look together. There’s a lot of technical stuff I’m still struggling with, so this costume is very slow in progress. I do enjoy working on it! It’s a real challenge. <3 But I will put this one on hold again, so I can focus on Gwendolyn. I want to see her (Gwendolyn) finished in time for Scotland Year One!

  • Vampire Queen – Own Creation
This project is the one that gave me some fabric work to off-set the foam parts of the others. Very grateful for that! I’m happy to have started with the cape for this design, because that was the main focus for this outfit imo. It is big and swoosh-y and it is very comfy (See picture). With red and black as the colour scheme, I hope to go full classic Vampire with it. I decided on a wig, crown, choker and dagger for this design, but not so much progress has been made on the bigger parts of the outfit. A big princess dress thing could work. Maybe? I’m also considering embroidering my own lace wristlets. I think those would be very cute and match the vibe well. I know reading about these parts without an image to show the goal is kinda boring, so I hope you’ll follow along to see where this one goes. 🙂

  • Fern (promotional lavender dress) – Sousou no Frieren
My friends know me too well, so when they saw this dress for Fern, they immediately sent it to me. Aaaand I got hooked. Got myself some fabric, but didn’t start sewing yet. I promised myself to be a bit further with Gwendolyn before I start a new project for real. The embroidery software will also come in handy for the embroidery on the bodice of this dress. But also: more purple <3

Also, I have been working on some other stuff too, but it’s better to not talk too much about that yet. 🙂 I will spill the beans when things get the green light. I’m hyped to have something other than costumes in the works again, but I don’t want to get ahead of things.
Oh! And I did something a little out fo character for me in the past month. When I get stuff to share, I’ll decide how I feel about it before I choose to share it or not. 🙂

Keep on crafting!
