Hi everyone!

Halfway into 2025 and I have achieved so much and so much still coming up. Hopefully, this keeps up, because I enjoy it a lot. 🙂 I am finishing a lot of projects, doing many things I enjoy and am able to make some more tutorials for you to read. Let’s go to the status of the projects mentioned in the previous projects blog post!

  • Fern’s Halloween outfit, (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End): is finished and waiting for a photoshoot. Time to plan a Halloween shoot for the first time ever!
  • Hatsune Miku, Synchronicity (Vocaloid): I struggled a lot with this one. At some point I couldn’t figure out how to do my next steps, which halted the process for a bit. But I’m back at it! The corset is done and the sleeves are too. Now just the leggings and hair accesoires are missing. (And potentially the staff.) I am not really liking this costume’s fit at this point, but who knows if it gets better?
  • Qual (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End): is finished! I worked hard on this one together with Fhant. Animecon was a harsh deadline, but we made it! I’m very proud of Fhant for pulling it off. We only want to do some quick fixes, so he can wear it to the next Frieren meet-up. Next up is the Mitachurl from Genshin Impact for Fhant.
  • Malzeno (Monster Hunter: Rise): I’ll try to pick this one up again. Cosplays with armor are a bit of a struggle, as I do want them to look a certain way and I am not too sure about how to make them look good. I do have a lot of the fabric materials for it, but I’m just scared. But a step is a step and I should try to keep making those. I’m going to check the bodysuit first and see if that needs to be re-made and work on the armored gloves to get motivated.

I also settled on my next project: the Theophany set from FFXIV! I don’t know anything about FFXIV, I just like the design and want to join my friends in their fun. It is also a cosplay that I can use many of my tools for. The embroidery machine, plotter (I got one!) and 3D printer (which is sadly dying) will all get their turns working on this. I want to take this project as one to refine my crafting with and not experiment much. Hopefully resulting in a sturdy costume. 🙂

In the past few months, I also visited Animecon (please support them!) and I sadly had to cancel the planned Star Guardian shoot due to mass cancellations in the last week. Please be aware that it is very draining for the event host to set up something and then see everyone walk away. If you have ever hosted something, you will probably know what I am talking about.  So both events left me a bit deflated due to different circumstances.
In the coming months, I don’t want to be down, so I will be doing a photoshoot with Kayleefirecat (this was on my list for quite some time!) and I will be working on a bigger new workshop/lecture than the one I hosted before at Nishicon! When I can share more about that, I will! <3 And to keep myself busy, I might visit a small convention in Nijmegen, see if we can pick a date for that Fern photoshoot that was “planned” half a year ago, join the Frieren 2025 picknick and visit the midsummer fair in the Archeon.

Keep on crafting,
Amirine
