Hi everyone!

I had to make sure to craft a lot in the past months, because I soon won’t be able to craft due to intense house renovations. And I still have to prepare for Scotland! Aaaaah! And speaking about events, my Animecon 2026 review is up! Give it a read if you want to kill a few minutes. 🙂 And there’s more stuff to kill a few minutes with: new Shenhe pictures, a “red” concept shoot, more Fern winter outfit pictures, same for Gwendolyn’s dress and Fern’s dance dress!  I’m trying to treat y’all before I probably have to tap out for a few months. 😉

Crafting progress summary

  • Gwendolyn – Odin Sphere

My high priority project! The wig was finished early April and I started 3D printing her staff back then too. The crystal was a pain to print, but I managed to get it done with some help from ToolsOnTech. (We also worked on some code for the Arduino +LED combo I want to put in here.) The staff was glued together with epoxy glue and painted black with chameleon paint accents. After that was done, I started on sewing the corset top. I used a free pattern from Artflower as a base, and added details where needed. The golden band on top was embroidered to match the choker and get that more elaborate feeling. The blue front panel is a satin covered with two-tone organza, which is the same blue-purple I used for her old version I made about 10 years ago. Even though I made quite some progress on her, I feel nervous about this build still.

  • Vampire Queen – fantasy concept

Since finishing a project (or two, see below) creates space to work on another, I expected to work on the Vampire Queen. I made lace wrist cuffs with my embroidery machine and cut out the pattern for the corset top. And that’s it for her. Whoops. 🙁

  • Nurse Joy – Pokémon

And since I’m a dummy… I started on my Nurse Joy cosplay and finished it. The petticoat came from an old bridal skirt that I bought second-hand. The pink fabric was pretty cheap at the local market and I mixed some patterns I had laying around to make her dress. And I added pockets. Of course. (And watch me once again forget that I have pockets in my cosplays…) The apron and nurse cap are made with the fabric from that same old bridal skirt I mentioned before. 🙂 The apron pattern was free-handed, the nurse cap pattern was found here. The embroidery on the pocket and nurse cap is self-made and done with my embroidery machine. And I 3D printed a potion to go with the outfit! The wig is a helmet wig. My first! I’m not sold on this technique yet, but that might also be due to the lack of a clear direction in Joy’s hair and my sensory issues with both glue and wig fibers. I had to figure out a lot by myself and I feel that lowers the quality.

  • Coven Ahri – League of Legends

I’m very much not playing League atm, but I love the Coven designs. So when ImperialButt coined her plan of cosplaying Coven Evelynn, I asked to join with Ahri. The base outfit was bought and I knew I had to do some work to make it fit and suit me. The most important adjustments are in the waist, adding an armband under a “sleeve” and 3D printing some details. I also took this chance to practice wig styling and makeup. And that was it! Ahri is done :).

Up next

By the way: I won’t be at Abunai!con this year. Still not forgiving them for how I was treated two years ago as a volunteer. (I did inform the right people in the organisation about the situation immediately as it happened, but they just DGAF.) Instead, I will be attending a wedding, preparing some more for Scotland and think of some more fun concepts for fantasy designs. Oh! And house renovations! Those always scare me a little, but it should be so good when finished. So not too many events this year, but using my energy for other things. <3 I am hoping for some fun shoots to still see my friends! Also, I might have some fun technical stuff to share. A big tutorial with premade stuff included! 😀 I’m hyped, but I think you’ll be too. <3

Keep on crafting!
